BOOKS & PUBLISHING
Some ideas are meant to become stories, and publishing has grown into a really meaningful part of The Brown Gals.
It started with one creative idea inspired by my daughter that eventually became a book I could hold in my hands and share with the world.
That experience showed me there was room to do more with publishing and to eventually create space for other stories too.

OUR FIRST BOOK
Do You Know Why You’re Awesome August?
My first children’s book, Do You Know Why You’re Awesome August?, was inspired by the real love and relationship between me and my daughter.
The story is built around the 5 W’s: who, what, when, where, and why, using the kinds of questions children naturally ask as they grow.
Through a loving conversation between a mother and daughter, each question becomes another opportunity to remind August of who she is, what makes her special, where she is supported, when she can believe in herself, and why she is so incredibly awesome.
Creating the book brought together so many things that matter to me: motherhood, creativity, writing, family, and making sure my daughter always has something she can look back on and know was created with her in mind.
It started as a story for August, but it also became something I could share with other families and children who deserve those same reminders. It also showed me that publishing could become something much bigger for The Brown Gals.
WHY PUBLISHING?
The Brown Gals is growing into a publishing imprint for writers, creatives, and authors who want another way
to share their work and reach new audiences.
The focus is simple: meaningful stories, creative ideas
and helping good work get seen.
